Grand Isle is a town in Jefferson Parish in the U.S. state of Louisiana, located on a barrier island of the same name in the Gulf of Mexico.

\nHurricane Ida's eastern eye wall hit the area on August 29, 2021, on the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, causing major destruction. It was reported that 100 percent of Grand Isle's structures were damaged, and around 40\u201350 percent of structures were completely destroyed.<\/p>

      Named after Edward Livingston, former Mayor of New York City. This is the 19th Century coastal defense fort located on Grand Terre Island. You can rent a kayak to explore the fortress.
